Professional and Interpersonal Behavior
"We shall demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, and honesty in all our professional activities in order to inspire the trust and confidence of the children and families and of those with whom we work" DEC, (2000, August)
This is one that stands out to me, mainly anyone working with children need to be on the same page and working as a team player. The children need to know we are all working together, so that their education will not fall in between the cracks. The children need to be the ones setting up the classroom activities, and coming up with different thees. As educators we need to be good role odels and show the children we can be trusted or that the children can trust what they say.
Responsive Family Centered Practices
"We shall respect families' rights to choose or refuse early childhood special education or related services" DEC (2000, August)
This one stands out mainly, because all children deserve to have the education they deserve no matter what their child's disability is. As educators we need to go the extra mile to give these children the education they need, so they can succeed in life. We all need to work together to get these children the services they need, so they can get a good education.
NAEYC
"To provide all children with experiences in a language that they know, as well as support children in maintaining the use of their home language and in learning English" NAEYC, (2005, April)
This one stands out to me mainly, I feel all children should be given the chance to use their language from their own culture. As educators we need to make sure we have the resources to make that happen. The center i work at have children from other cultures, and it is hard to understand the parents. As an educator we need to go the extra mile, so we can give the the language experience they need.
