Communication
Experience
Well was not too sure which show
to choose to watch, since I am not one to watch TV other than the news or
lifetime, and that is usually at night. I had to force myself to sit and watch
the "The Cosby Show" with the sound off that was very hard to do.
This is a show I used to watch when I was little, so that is why I chose to
explore this show.
It
has been a while since I have watched this show, so I do not know their names.
I do know one is a mother, grandmother, and than the other two I think are just
friends. When the show first started you could tell a couple of them was on the
couch wrapped in a blanket not feeling well. The grandmother came out of her
bedroom all dressed up like she was ready to go out. One of the other ladies
you could tell was just talking and talking, then it was a couple of seconds
and they was all feuding among each other about something not sure what about.
Then the grandmother walks out of her room, and the other three stomp to their
bedrooms looking like they are really mad. You could tell they was upset at
each, but could not make out why.
Another
scene was they were all in the kitchen hugging, so they seem to have made up.
Then they were all sitting around the table talking about an issue, and then
they started to yelling at each other again. Then they were all at a formal
ball, and it seemed like they were enjoying their self and having a good time.
While
watching the show you could tell they had all kinds of different feelings going
on. I could see mad, upset, love, anger, frustration, and happy. It was very
hard to decide what was going on in the show without having any sound on. You
had to really watch what was happening to decide if they was mad, anger or
what. You could tell by their facial expressions what possible will happen.
All
of my assumptions were based on what I could see since there was no sound. My
feelings was they were mad at each other for some reason, but not sure the
reason you could tell the way they was looking and talking really fast. It was
very hard for me to sit and watch a show without any sound at all.
I
think if I would of watched a show I knew well I feel my assumptions would have
been different, because I would know what is going to happen. When you know a
show well you look at it in a different way. If we are familiar with a certain
thing or show we do not get what we should out of the observation.
This
was an experience I believe was very hard for me, but it did make me stop and
think of different ways I send messages off to people. We need to be very
careful of the way we use body language and even the way you look at people
both of them are messages you can send the wrong way, and not meaning to hurt
anyone.
