Child Development and Public Health

I chose to explore immunization. This topic is very meaningful without having the children with their immunization they would get any disease coming and going. Immunization helps you and your from different diseases. this will also help to reduce the spread of diseases to other people as well. Most of the immunizations are done by a shot, but some are in a liquid form too. There are some reason why we should get our children their immunization shots. Immunization shots will protect the child from dangerous diseases. It will also reduce the spread of diseases to other people and children. The main thing it cost less to have your child immunized, then to be treated for a disease. Vaccines have very little side effects. You need to be up to date on all of your shots to be able to go to another country, enter school or even daycare.

Another country that I chose to look at on the immunization was Italy. In Italy there are three vaccine- preventable diseases (Polio, Diphtheria, and Tetanus) are controlled by the compulsory immunization of all new borns. These are the main three shots that they give in Italy. The schools in Italy also require that the children have all of their required shots before entering school. The mumps immunization is another shot that is recommended, but the vaccine is not yet marketed in Italy. I thought that was very interesting to recommend a shot, but say it is not yet marketed in their country.

Robin,

I agree immunizations will stop the spread of contagious diseases. It is cheaper to get your child vaccinated than having to pay a hospital bill.
