Web Resources

Well I have been in contact with a Pastor's wife who has spent some time over in the phillipines and is willing to work with me over the next couple of weeks. This week has been hard to get in contact with her. I also explored other options just in case i need to do something else. The children Defense site (http://www.childrensdefense.org/index-1.html)  is one I have not really explored at all. Their site is well layed out and very organized. Makes it very easy to explore and find what you are looking for. This site is a non-profit child advocacy it is created to enhance all children. The Children's Defense Fund has a monthly news letter and they put all of the top stories they are working on for that month. The one story that caught my eye today was "BE Careful What You Cut". Some of the things it was talking about tax credit, health and food cuts, and Educational cuts these are all areas that we need to be careful of getting cut, because it can effect our families, young children, and of course could cost some jobs in the education field. I know in the area I work in we have a lot of families who are getting some assistance for their daycare, and if we do not save these it could hurt a lot of working people. I am still hoping to hear from other contries to be able to explore about their country.

Hello Robin,
It is good to know that you have taken the necessary steps to communicate with others outside your immediate contact. Your story is quite interesting and alarming at the same time. I strongly believe that an investment in early childhood education is one of the best things a government can do for its nation. Early childhood education is critical for economic growth and development. I do agree that we should all take action today and protect children from budget cuts.
