Research that Benefits Children and Families

Research that Benefits Children and Families

With being in the education field for sometime there are things that are of benefit to the children and their families. With all of the different classes I have taken it has given me a lot of insight to share with parents that are dealing with some of the same situations. I know I have several parents who have been through a divorce or even a separation, so I know how these parents and children are feeling. I have had to deal with the same concerns with my own children, and have had some insight to be able to share with other parents. I have a parent now who is going through a separation and the child is acting out at school and home, but I have built a rapport with this family and he seem s to be doing a lot better. This was a parent who did not want to listen and always thought everyone was against her. I just explained that you just have to stay on top of him and his behavior do not give in to him and keep all of your boundaries in place it will take time but you will see progress. The mom and the school are on the same page and you can really see where the child’s behavior is getting so much better. I am a parent who has come from a divorce family and I reach out to parents who are willing to listen especially someone who wants to help other people out. I am willing to go a step farther and step out of my little box to give these parents the information they need for them and their child/children to succeed in their journey.

Great post Robin!

I feel the same way about one of my parents.I'm willing to help in any way I can but feel as if my parent don't want the help.

Parents sometimes make the field of early childhood harder than it already needs to be. When both the teacher and the parents are on the same "page" and reaching for the same goal, the benefits for a child are astronomical. Finding that middle ground can be hard, but is so worth it in the end.
